First Garden City Heritage Museum Exhibitions

As well as its permanent exhibits exploring the history of the Garden City movement, the First Garden City Heritage Museum also runs a programme of temporary exhibitions delving even further into the social history of Letchworth Garden City.

The significance of the 1905 Cheap Cottages exhibition, of course warranted its own exhibition. In 2005, 100 years after the first Cheap Cottages exhibition, the museum ran 'The £150 Cottage' exhibition exploring every aspect of the 1905 Cheap Cottages event.

The information collated and presented as part of this exhibition is available to download in PDF format from the table below.

In addition February 2007 sees the start of a new exhibition which celebrates the centenaries of organsiations, building and events held in Letchworth Garden City, featuring the 1907 'Cheap Cottages' Exhibition.
